Be it summer or winter, dandruff has its own time to occur and nearly kill our beautiful lustrous hair. Along with itchy dry scalp, dandruff is a publicly embarrassing as well. However, if you don’t make any move against dandruff, you have got to face alternative problems like hair thinning, hair fall, skin irritation, and scalp acne.

"Dandruff is a formation of excessive shedding of dead skin cells from the scalp"

It is usually caused by dry scalp, so it is essential to keep hydrated. Shampoo and over the counter products may relieve you for a while but never cures completely. Try some tested home remedies to cure dandruff once and for all.

Natural Ways to Get Rid of Dandruff

1. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera has antifungal and antibacterial properties, which shield the scalp from any infections by different kinds of fungus and yeast that result in dandruff. It also moisturizes the itchy scalp and soothes by producing a cooling effect over the scalp region. Apply aloe vera gel directly or blend it with some hair oil and rinse off thoroughly the next morning with a mild shampoo. Leaving it overnight will give you amazing results in the morning.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar

With its acidic nature, Apple Cider Vinegar battles the fungus growth within the hair roots of the scalp. Blend apple cider vinegar with equal amounts of water and apply it on the scalp. Leave it for 30 minutes before washing off with mild shampoo. It will assist you with diminishing dandruff faster after a few applications.

3. Garlic

Garlic’s natural anti-microbial properties are useful for eliminating bacteria. Crush 6 to 7 cloves of garlic and mix the paste with 6 tablespoons of honey if you want to remove the pungent smell. Apply the paste on the scalp and let it sit for about 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse your hair with a mild shampoo. Repeat this remedy 2 times a week for better results.

4. Aspirin

Salicylic acid in aspirin is beneficial for diminishing dandruff from your scalp. Crush 2 tablets of aspirin into a powder and blend it in your shampoo. Ensure to leave the aspirin mixed shampoo on your hair for about 2 minutes before rinsing off thoroughly. You will notice the results in one wash.

5. Baking Soda

Baking soda absorbs the excess oil from your scalp and aids in removing the dead skin. Wet your hair and exfoliate your scalp with baking soda. Leave it only for a minute and rinse your hair thoroughly with a mild shampoo. This technique will bring down dandruff in no time.

6. Lemon Juice

Lemon has antioxidants, antifungal properties, vitamin C, and citric acid that fight dandruff and promote healthy scalp and hair.
